Europe Day Concert 2024 -Listen Online

On Thursday 9 May, the European Parliament Liaison Office, the European Commission Representation and the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU, in cooperation with the Royal Irish Academy of Music organised a concert of young musicians to celebrate Europe Day.

Nationwide awareness campaign for the European Elections

As part of our nationwide awareness campaign for the European elections 2024, we will be organising a series of events in all constituencies designed to demonstrate the impact the EU has on our daily lives and why citizens should vote in the European elections. EU-themed poetry evening

To mark the launch of the European Parliament's election awareness campaign for the Midlands-North-West Constituency, there will be a European Elections Special of the monthly Illuminations poetry evening at The Model, Sligo on 2nd May 2024 from 8-10pm. The themes of the evening are European democracy, its value, citizens voices and encouraging people to vote.

The European Parliament Liaison Office in Ireland, in collaboration with the Irish Green Building Council (IGBC), hosted an event on 15 March 2024 highlighting the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive with rapporteur Ciarán Cuffe MEP.

Your MEPs

There are currently 705 members in the European Parliament, elected across the 27 Member States of the EU.  Ireland currently has 13 MEPs representing three constituencies, Dublin, South and Midlands-North-West.  Due to population increases the number of seats in the European Parliament will increase to 720 for the next legislative term. Ireland is among Member States which gained seats, and as such elected 14 MEPs due to take up their seats on 16 July 2024 in Strasbourg.
